It started out the size of a minnow, grew to a tadpole, but is now a fully fledged frog, leaping & bounding across the partying pool that is not just the Shoreditch scene but the whole capital clubbing circuit, currently riding on a Friday foray dominating wave crest, Larry Tee’s creation once again landing our “Pick of The Day”, event details via a banner selection opposite or an image click below, while we pomp the party circumstance beneath.

It is not often that a clubbing brand really grabs our attention enough that we follow it religiously, only a small handful in the score or more of years we have been circulating the scene achieving just that, Crash Trade Beyond & Lovechild four of the few, while Warriors is another that stands out from the crowd  of club hopefuls. Yet since we have turned our hand to recommending & reporting on the scene rather than just reviewing it and clubbing within it, a new religious list of clubs we follow & promote as regularly as those above that we clubbed, has emerged, the likes of Room Service, Gigolo, Muccassassina &  Scream receiving our weekly coverage & support. But there is another unsuspecting club that has joined this already illustrious list, a minnow of a brand that has grown from its tadpole beginnings into a fully fledged frog of a frolic, this year particularly seeing Super Electro Party Machine (SEPM) really come into its own. Indeed, it has become such a popular party, that it has begun to eclipse the bigger Vauxhall brands that are clearly struggling, particularly those on a Friday, while Larry Tee has seen his compact creation gown in stature virtually unrepentantly, very much bucking the downward trend of others.

Choosing its home at East Bloc, SEPM has landed  a real melting pot of a venue that has not only put Shoreditch firmly on the capital clubbing circuit map, but has seen a bevy of brands butterfly into action over the last couple of years, some initially making a much bigger splash than SEPM, although with the limelight on this mover & shaker of a spot on the scene, Mr Tee & co have made the most of the attention, recent months seeing this fabulous Friday foray not just catch up with its counterparts in the popularity stakes, but has in some cases, leap frogged into partying pole position in the eyes of party goers & the East Bloc top brass alike. And this success is down to the hard work sweat & toil Mr Tee has invested in his club, that along with booking a string of guest D.J.’s that have a dynamic draw, names such as Tom Stephan, Jodie Harsh, Princess Julia, Guy Williams & Smokin Jo, all that fit the main room mix of upfront tech & funky house really well, while resident Attack, Attack, Attack (one person before you ask) adds his own sounds spyce to this superb soiree, Larry jumping on the decks too, all making for what has truly become a majestic meet of prolific proportions.

So, it pretty much goes without saying that SEPM has, once again, ascended to our “Pick of The Day” slot, tonight’s party welcoming back legendary Space, Ibiza resident Smokin Jo to the main floor, while with a special live performance, Vegas style, from Sink the Pink, this is an event not to miss. Plus, with June’s headline D.J. roster for Friday’s released just today, along with a Sunday soiree at Xoxo, it looks like a magnificent month ahead for Larry & co, while all eyes are on East Bloc tonight and this shimmering Shoreditch star, Super Electro Party Machine. About discomatt

The History........................................................Created in 2008 after a short period of blogging under his real name, the pseudonym, “Disco Matt”, was born on the back of a reputation for being London’s original party boy having partied and clubbed across the London gay scene since in mid 1990’s.........................................................Through his series of blogs via individual blogging pages which soon morphed into a full blown website (http://discomatt.com), Disco Matt established himself as an independent journalist come columnist who quickly gained a reputation for supporting & promoting one of the world’s most prolific clubbing scenes. He previewed, reviewed & recommended London gay clubs, as well as the diverse gay/metrosexual London club/bar culture, linking to & reviewing the scene top D.J.’s and generally covering the gay scene including international gay events....................................................Regularly reporting on the top events across the scene, Disco Matt’s reviews, over the years, developed a strong following, not just by clubbers, D.J’s, promoters, music producers & scene faces, but people far and wide that were looking for an insight to the incredible scene that was London. He also previewed upcoming events that signalled, either a major change or update of existing clubs, new ventures on the gAylist/metrosexual scene, or where he considered events that deserved more comprehensive coverage to that provided in other posts.............................................However, having pretty much reached the top of his game in his chosen specific field, due to a number of personal predicaments, challenges & changes in his life priorities, Disco Matt parked his writing and operation in February 2014. While the burning desire to continue remained, what this much needed period of inactivity did provide was the time & space to re-think & re-focus his activities on a broader spectrum of media and entertainment............................................................So, following this long two year lay-off, he built up the foundations for this diversification into the areas of film, theatre, radio & television where his reviewing, recommending & reporting was to be replicated & resurrected, also pointing his promotions through more visuals & video's linked to all these areas along with his core activities and passions ................................................................................The Present....................................After another (shorter) period of lay-off from mid 2016, a life changing event reignited his passion and early into 2017, Disco Matt has delivered on his promise for a new, more modern look to his website, shedding the old & tired skin in favour of something far more in keeping with the times and with his blogging roots. And he has waived a fond farewell to his clubbing days, this having also been ditched from his site & activity, rather now just focussing on the genres of film, theatre, radio, television, video and of course, music, in so doing, aiming to broaden his appeal to a much wider audience interested in the latest most cutting edge areas of media & entertainment.............................................................................His aim is to be highly regarded across the industry for his writing in these fields and ultimately become a full time critic in film &/or theatre.
