While we will be praying for hot & shimmering sun the following day, it will certainly be hot & shimmering at club Covert on Friday 28th June, as the gay porn star awards known as “Hotrods” takes centre stage, hopeful’s strutting their stuff for your final votes, we precluding this pageant with a petit preview below, before peeking into the press release beneath.

 

 

Fresh from the success that was their “Meets La Demence” Friday of porn-tastic action in Brussels, opening a weekend of partying for the city’s Gay Pride weekend in superb style, Hustlaball’s Pride eyes now look to London and their showcase spectacle, a stunning line-up of studs from across the world converging on club Colosseum in Vauxhall for what looks like being a London Gay Pride headline happening. And given that a plethora of porn stars will be in & around London at the end of June, it seemed so appropriate to the Hustlaball organisers that their awards ceremony should take place on the same weekend, Hotrods set to be the captivating curtain raiser to Pride celebrations in the capital. So, all eyes will be on club Covert on Friday 28th May when Hotrods returns for its second outing, an annual awards ceremony that celebrates the best in an industry that, in the U.S. is big business, the whole adult entertainment offer looked upon very different to here where, in recent years, it has seen a significant contraction.

 

Yet there is still a swathe of society & the scene, particularly in London, that is not only interested in, but engage in activities, admittedly behind firmly closed doors, in sex & porn in many forms, while out in the public clubbing eye, just a small handful of places & parties propel porn, club brands Hard On! & PLAY>TIME that welcome porn stars to their events who then indulge in hardcore & XXX rated action, the softer side showed superbly by Gigolo. So, while we may be far behind the U.S.A. , the gap is closing, both Hustlaball & now Hotrods considerable contributors. Indeed, on speaking with the promotions team, they tell us that “…The UK’s adult entertainment industry is becomnig increasingly engaged & noticed within the clubbing community, as performers and studios have become much more open and involved with events their followers…” and with names like Isaac Jones, Lucio Saints & Francois Sagat making regular appearances at club events here in the capital, porn in both soft & harder forms is becoming more common place, the next step being to reward these stars with annual awards, just as we do the clubs through various polls each year

 

So we have Hotrods which, only in its second year, is already being noticed as a potential industry leader, its set up & whole ethos having turned plenty of heads over the pond, many of whom will no doubt converge on Covert at the end of this month, promoter Alex Erfan adding “…The Hotrods award night is aimed at bringing both fans and members of the industry together in an erotic celebration of recognition and extravagance…”.
