Tel Aviv To London

Without doubt, the last twelve months or so has seen one of London’s most forward thinking & progressive clubs brands do just that, a whole succession of successful parties having played out across Europe and into the Middle East, destinations like Amsterdam, Lille, Barcelona & Istanbul receiving Lovechild rapturously, promoter Alex Erfan’s latest success story coming out of Tel Aviv just a couple of months ago, the Israeli’s lapping up the captivating concept, the delectable dancers, the marvellous music and the sparkling stage shows that Lovechild has become famous for. So, having established this bond, it was only a matter of time before Mr Erfan re-affirmed connections with the joyous Jewish, this time celebrating Eilat Pride and joining forces with the Israeli capital’s biggest club brand FFF. But not only will Lovechild be celebrating out in Eilat this coming Friday night (13th May), but a double dose of Pride style partying will see London host its own devotion to one of the first Pride events in the world, Eilat only preceded by Gran Canaria & Hawaii.

So, with Pride fever about to sweep London town, what can we expect from this latest Lovechild love-in here in the capital? Well the joining of forces with the FFF group is a further example of Alex Erfan’s extensive connections across the worldwide clubbing community, FFF without doubt Israel’s biggest gay clubbing brand and one that has a solid international reputation. Based in Tel Aviv, their fortnightly parties have incredible synergy with Lovechild, as FFF events are prized for their delectable dancers, magnificent music & spectacular stage shows, the club night welcoming a host of international D.J. stars to play at their parties, names like Juanjo Martin, Carlos Gallardo, Danny Verde, & Ana Paula, while other big clubbing brands have made their presence felt at FFF, Space, SuperMartXe & WE featuring recently. Indeed such was SuperMartXe’s presence at FFF, a video is out to the wider world, taken at last year’s Pride event, giving you a snap shot of FFF in full flow at http://youtube.com/watch?v=cqN6ER2OIvM, while Mirrorballs TV made their own recording of Lovechild’s visit in April, well worth a look at http://clicker.com/web/mirrorballstv/lovechild-fff-group-tel-aviv-1662302/#, both brands working really well with FFF, which incidentally stands for “Friendly Freedom Friday” (what a fabulous title, don’t you think?!).

So, that’s FFF, but what can you expect when it meets Lovechild at Fire on Saturday? Well plenty of that spectacular stage show action for a start, the new band of Lovechild dancers having gone down an absolute storm at the last outing & sure to provide bucket loads of eye candy, not to mention the sexy & seductive feel for which both Lovechild & FFF are renowned. Plus with the imported influence of FFF’s producer/promoter, Shirazi, expect plenty of the unexpected throughout the stage appearances, not to mention a plenty of dazzling dancing & creative costumes to impress. Plus, Lovechild’s usual feature, the contact room, will be in action and Mirrorballs TV will be there to film it all, so if you’re planning to take your tops off & dance (we all do don’t we?!?) then a trip down the gym to pump up those pecs would be a good idea. The, host venue Fire will be pulling out all the stops on the lighting & effects front, particular attention being paid to the main room installations which let Lookbetternaked down a little last weekend, although having spoken with Alex, he assures us that Fire are ready & sorted on that score.

Fabulous Friday Frolic On A Saturday

Now to the music and FFF will be bringing resident D.J. Tal Cohen with them, this prestigious talent a well know figure back in Tel Aviv, his eclectic mix of sounds definitely aimed at the notoriously fussy Israeli clubbing crowd, who often seem too consumed with everything Offer Nissam. That said, Tad does have a unique sound that sets him apart from his counterpart, the mix of disco, rhythm & blues, blended neatly into up to date electro house sure to please the London audiences ears and deliver something a little different. In fact, to get a feel of what to expect, check out his latest compilation mix at , while you can see Tal in action via this video, recorded direct from one of his performances at FFF, the link being http://youtube.com/watch?v=SbNFpAf0r_4.

Joining Tal will be a host of Lovechild’s resident D.J.’s headlined by Tony English who, we have to say, in on fantastic form at the moment, having treated us tremendously at “Society” last Friday night. Tony has also played over in Tel Aviv, representing Lovechild there, so the fit couldn’t be better and whist we are still patiently waiting for a new compilation from him (Tony is a very busy boy!) it’s always worth checking out his podcast site at http://djtonyenglish.com, although when it comes to his main room performances at Lovechild, lots of vocals, euro & Spanish beats along with the odd anthem thrown in for good measure of the order of the English day. In terms of other stars making a show, Sharon O Love is back for another main room appearance, while it does seem like a return trip for many, Lee Harris, Gabriele Cutrano & Savin, all brought in to spice this Lovechild party up. So given that line-up, you can definitely expects hoards of heavenly house hits to really elevate the atmosphere, while for the tougher edge of the Contact room, who better than the Sicilian duo of Alessandro Londra & Gabriele Cutrano, while the master of ambient to progressive beats, Tony Bruno, will be taking charge of the “love” lounge, and if his performance at Lookbetternaked is anything to go by, this part of the club will be packed. Check our postscript at the foot of this focus for links to all the D.J.’s podcast pages.

So, to the all important detail and Lovechild Meets FFF takes place this Saturday (14th May) at Fire in Vauxhall, doors opening at 11 p.m. and the club running through until a planned 6 a.m. Advanced tickets at just £10 are on sale via the usual outlets in Soho, that is Prowler, Clone Zone & 50, while online options are available at http://clubtickets.com/gb/2011-05/14/lovechild-presents-fff-group and/or via http://alexerfan.com., where you can also obtain more info (do you need it?!?!) on this event, as well as the host of other parties Mr Erfan presents, including the upcoming As One (Sunday 29th May) and Hustlaball (Saturday 11th June). If you prefer just to turn up, then entry is available on the door but expect to pay a little more and remember that Fire’s drink prices remain pretty reasonable for a club, so this party certainly isn’t going to leave a huge hole in your pocket. And don’t forget you party heads, that beyond kicks off straight after over at Area, the team on hand to release entry tickets & discount passes to the lucky ones sharp enough to get their attention.,

Now all that’s left to say is that this Lovechild meet with Israel’s FFF will surely prove a match made in heaven and be THE place to be seen on the scene this Saturday, so as we love to say…”Go There! Be There! (DISCO MATT)

About discomatt

The History........................................................Created in 2008 after a short period of blogging under his real name, the pseudonym, “Disco Matt”, was born on the back of a reputation for being London’s original party boy having partied and clubbed across the London gay scene since in mid 1990’s.........................................................Through his series of blogs via individual blogging pages which soon morphed into a full blown website (http://discomatt.com), Disco Matt established himself as an independent journalist come columnist who quickly gained a reputation for supporting & promoting one of the world’s most prolific clubbing scenes. He previewed, reviewed & recommended London gay clubs, as well as the diverse gay/metrosexual London club/bar culture, linking to & reviewing the scene top D.J.’s and generally covering the gay scene including international gay events....................................................Regularly reporting on the top events across the scene, Disco Matt’s reviews, over the years, developed a strong following, not just by clubbers, D.J’s, promoters, music producers & scene faces, but people far and wide that were looking for an insight to the incredible scene that was London. He also previewed upcoming events that signalled, either a major change or update of existing clubs, new ventures on the gAylist/metrosexual scene, or where he considered events that deserved more comprehensive coverage to that provided in other posts.............................................However, having pretty much reached the top of his game in his chosen specific field, due to a number of personal predicaments, challenges & changes in his life priorities, Disco Matt parked his writing and operation in February 2014. While the burning desire to continue remained, what this much needed period of inactivity did provide was the time & space to re-think & re-focus his activities on a broader spectrum of media and entertainment............................................................So, following this long two year lay-off, he built up the foundations for this diversification into the areas of film, theatre, radio & television where his reviewing, recommending & reporting was to be replicated & resurrected, also pointing his promotions through more visuals & video's linked to all these areas along with his core activities and passions ................................................................................The Present....................................After another (shorter) period of lay-off from mid 2016, a life changing event reignited his passion and early into 2017, Disco Matt has delivered on his promise for a new, more modern look to his website, shedding the old & tired skin in favour of something far more in keeping with the times and with his blogging roots. And he has waived a fond farewell to his clubbing days, this having also been ditched from his site & activity, rather now just focussing on the genres of film, theatre, radio, television, video and of course, music, in so doing, aiming to broaden his appeal to a much wider audience interested in the latest most cutting edge areas of media & entertainment.............................................................................His aim is to be highly regarded across the industry for his writing in these fields and ultimately become a full time critic in film &/or theatre.
