Having stormed the scene some sixteen months ago, while WAR may have called for its own ceasefire in May, its back with a bang and raring to go in June, promoter Kris Di Angelis & his terrific team going to partying battle at East Bloc tonight in spectacular style, so leaving us in no doubt of its deservedness for our “Pick of The Day” choice, event details a banner selection away opposite or an image click below, while we deliver our own dinky devotion beneath

Having been a follower of clubbing fashion for a far few years now (some would say too many), we can spot a good party when we see one and in WAR we have an excellent event that, by the very nature of the promoter that drives it, attracts the most good looking, trendy and, as Kris would describe them “…hottest boys in town…”. Indeed WAR, since its launch in February 2012, has pretty much been the hottest clubbing ticket in town, turning even the most stiffest of scene heads as it sailed into the sea of success that left its envious competitors coughing & choking in the wings, deciding to hold its monthly meets in the hotbed superb & venue of the moment, East Bloc in Shoreditch playing a prominent part in its amazing appeal, a sizable & stylish clubbing crowd packing out this prolific party from day one, WAR not needing wage anything like such in its prancing party procession that has even swept aside the might of Beyond. And it seems to be the formula it has adopted from Kris’s former club collaboration, MEAT, that wins the way, the difference between the other off shoot, DISH, being that WAR has also imported elements of the super success Room Service, the likes of JJ Clark & Jack on the door bringing their own fervent followers, while with D.J.’s on duty that include the in vogue JoshYouAre, Tim Washington & Kingsley, as well as Mr Di Angelis himself, both the music & the men come flocking akin to the pied piper of Hamlin, such is WAR’S amazing attraction.

So that’s WAR as a brand, but what about tonight’s party? Well for starters it’s dedicated to “The Boys” and with Kris telling us that  “…we’ve invited some of the hottest boys we know to throw our party with us, and opened up the third room again for a massive all-night threeway marathon…” the club opens up a third room of fun for the first time, 90’s R&B/Anthems being the name & Miguel Dare & Anton Douglas deliverers of the game, both well known in Shoreditch circles, playing for Truth or Dare & SOS respectively, further new additions for this latest WAR wonder  include hosts Conan O’Neill, Mitchell Marrion & Pablo Teixeira. Then, in Kris’ inimitable words, “…there’s Titus Groan! We don’t know if you’ve seen what happens when a bovver boot boy throws on drag and celebrates his birthday, but it’s f*cking epic!!…” while, as if that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite for all the antics that are sure to go down at East Bloc tonight, then his parting line, “…if you’re hot, you’re in…all the way!!…” should seal the deal on this despicably delightful & decadently discerning dance delectation, we stealing no more of the full party promotion thunder, which you can find in all its glory by clicking on https://facebook.com/events/608720765806935/. However, while not strictly words for WAR, we join Kris in also propelling the upcoming Summer Rites In The Park, specially discounted tickets available, how did he put it “…the maaaaad as fuck festival…” he adding  “…it’s the first time there has even been a cool thing to do on Pride for ages…” , leaving us to say touché for both Summer Rites & the wonderfully whacky & way-out WAR. About discomatt

The History........................................................Created in 2008 after a short period of blogging under his real name, the pseudonym, “Disco Matt”, was born on the back of a reputation for being London’s original party boy having partied and clubbed across the London gay scene since in mid 1990’s.........................................................Through his series of blogs via individual blogging pages which soon morphed into a full blown website (http://discomatt.com), Disco Matt established himself as an independent journalist come columnist who quickly gained a reputation for supporting & promoting one of the world’s most prolific clubbing scenes. He previewed, reviewed & recommended London gay clubs, as well as the diverse gay/metrosexual London club/bar culture, linking to & reviewing the scene top D.J.’s and generally covering the gay scene including international gay events....................................................Regularly reporting on the top events across the scene, Disco Matt’s reviews, over the years, developed a strong following, not just by clubbers, D.J’s, promoters, music producers & scene faces, but people far and wide that were looking for an insight to the incredible scene that was London. He also previewed upcoming events that signalled, either a major change or update of existing clubs, new ventures on the gAylist/metrosexual scene, or where he considered events that deserved more comprehensive coverage to that provided in other posts.............................................However, having pretty much reached the top of his game in his chosen specific field, due to a number of personal predicaments, challenges & changes in his life priorities, Disco Matt parked his writing and operation in February 2014. While the burning desire to continue remained, what this much needed period of inactivity did provide was the time & space to re-think & re-focus his activities on a broader spectrum of media and entertainment............................................................So, following this long two year lay-off, he built up the foundations for this diversification into the areas of film, theatre, radio & television where his reviewing, recommending & reporting was to be replicated & resurrected, also pointing his promotions through more visuals & video's linked to all these areas along with his core activities and passions ................................................................................The Present....................................After another (shorter) period of lay-off from mid 2016, a life changing event reignited his passion and early into 2017, Disco Matt has delivered on his promise for a new, more modern look to his website, shedding the old & tired skin in favour of something far more in keeping with the times and with his blogging roots. And he has waived a fond farewell to his clubbing days, this having also been ditched from his site & activity, rather now just focussing on the genres of film, theatre, radio, television, video and of course, music, in so doing, aiming to broaden his appeal to a much wider audience interested in the latest most cutting edge areas of media & entertainment.............................................................................His aim is to be highly regarded across the industry for his writing in these fields and ultimately become a full time critic in film &/or theatre.
