When fashion week rolls into town, whether in London, Paris, Milan or Rome, it seems the clubbing circuit responds resplendently with a mound of marvellous meets, this coming weekend seeing the French capital come alive with opulent outings, four fabulous forays getting our special feature focus attention as we prepare to head to Paris to soak up & sample a selection of these superb soiree’s.

WE Paris - JanHaving visited the French capital on a handful of occasions in in 2011/12 & 13 we are simply amazed by how much more is on offer within its clubbing circuit compared with the years preceding, the scene stalwart that is Scream having been joined by a fresh faced & fabulous forays that have certainly shown a clean pair of heels to its comparable & more colossal cousin that is London, both Walkgroup & Spirit Of Star having very much stepped up to the plate, the likes of After Wake-Up, KitKat & Revolution making magnificent moves & hitting happening headlines far & wide. Indeed, their considerable contributions to the Paris partying circle have spurred on others both within the city & from further afield, the massive Matinee meets colossal on the Parisian clubbing calendar, while WE Party have also gotten into the act, they having stormed the city just last weekend, while Circuit Festival usual pitch their premiere pre-party each year in Paris, XLsior having followed suit, But London has always partied with Parisian’s, way back to the halcyon days of Crash & Trade, the alter having stormed as recently as last November, while the brilliant Beyond has chalked up a collection of opulent outings, while the uber trendy Room Service has very much made its marvellous mark on the French capital.

Room Service Paris - Jan Banner

Room Service Paris - Jan ExtendedAnd that brings us neatly to this special focus feature, Paris well & truly buzzing from Men’s Fashion Week, all the industry giants in attendance in what is probably THE most stylish & sophisticated of any in the world, Room Service very much at the forefront on the partying & celebrating collection of clubs, riding high on the stunning success of its last outing in November, when it packed out the converted old halls of the French Cinémathèque that is now “YOYO” a new place du Palais de Tokyo that hosts conferences, concerts, parades, films & (of course) club events. So, with the venue having fitted the Room Service set-up like a glove, promoter Jodie Harsh & her terrific team are back this coming Saturday (18th Jan) for what looks like being the best place to be & be seen by fashionista’s & their followers, a truly hedonistic happening with a cavorting cocktail of fun & frivolity, one of its contributors summing this Room Service soiree superbly when he says, “…out of all the RS parties in the world, this is my favourite. It couldn’t be ANY cooler than it is here; Hugely successful designers begging to get in, transsexual porn stars belly flopping two twinks in a boxing ring, and I get to play my tracks to 2000 mega people!…”. And to be honest we simply can’t follow that, excepting delivering on a little of the detail, D.J.’s on duty including London lads Kris Di Angelis & Adam Turner, joining Parisian player Angelo, Jodie (who will also be spinning some sounds) heading up a hosting team that includes capital chap JJ Clark flying the Room Service flag, while co-promotions team, Club Sandwich Entertainment, roll out Alannah Starr & Enzo Di Karina. Add to that, special stage shows from the wonderful whacky Jonny Woo and this is one party you won’t want to miss, full & further details, including the pre-sale ticket link, opening times, music links & more, out on the events page at https://facebook.com/events/561872497222971/ or by visiting http://clubroomservce.com.

Scream - Jan 3 Banner

Wake Up - Jan 3 ExtendedHowever, the Walkgroup have an irresistibly captivating combination of clubs stretching across both Saturday & Sunday that simply cannot be overlooked, Scream leading the way this coming Saturday night (18th Jan) with its ever popular party “Wicked”, Ludo & his terrific team welcoming not one, or two, but three special guest D.J.’s, Terry Bryan jetting in from London, joining Germany’s Rony Golding (of Sexy Cologne fame) & French fancy Gerald Henderson. And the London influence continues with heavenly hostess Andrea Drudikova who will still be in serious birthday celebration (aka Andrea Fest) mode, she joined by the outrageous Heidi Liscious, while with a pop-tastic second space & the infamous Scream play area, this event looks like living up to its name in every way. But the partying doesn’t stop when “Wicked” does, as the official afterparty, After Wake-Up, continues the cavorting well into Sunday over at Theatre Rouge, Walkgroup’s very own Ben Manson serving up a XXL set of some six hours in length, although given his towering talent for tumbling out tremendous tunes, one after the other, this pitch in Pigalle will be packed & pumping right up to the planned 1 pm finish. Then, after a short siesta, it’s all Sunday night soiree systems go for new9ish) outing KitKat which kick starts its latest session from 8 pm at the venue of the same name, located right on the edge of Le Marais, a resident D,J, team on duty including Aurel Devil, Tommy Marcus, Trippy Gonzales & more, the accent very much on clubbing & cruising across two spaces & running right through to the early hours of Monday morning (7 am in fact), this rounding of a trio of treats that are hard to beat, full & further event details on each clicks away at https://facebook.com/events/493826120735268/ (Scream), https://facebook.com/events/1439011502982485/ (After Wake Up) & https://facebook.com/events/1416945068543730/ (KitKat), while for details on upcoming Walkgroup events, head to https://facebook.com/Walkgroup.

About discomatt

The History........................................................Created in 2008 after a short period of blogging under his real name, the pseudonym, “Disco Matt”, was born on the back of a reputation for being London’s original party boy having partied and clubbed across the London gay scene since in mid 1990’s.........................................................Through his series of blogs via individual blogging pages which soon morphed into a full blown website (http://discomatt.com), Disco Matt established himself as an independent journalist come columnist who quickly gained a reputation for supporting & promoting one of the world’s most prolific clubbing scenes. He previewed, reviewed & recommended London gay clubs, as well as the diverse gay/metrosexual London club/bar culture, linking to & reviewing the scene top D.J.’s and generally covering the gay scene including international gay events....................................................Regularly reporting on the top events across the scene, Disco Matt’s reviews, over the years, developed a strong following, not just by clubbers, D.J’s, promoters, music producers & scene faces, but people far and wide that were looking for an insight to the incredible scene that was London. He also previewed upcoming events that signalled, either a major change or update of existing clubs, new ventures on the gAylist/metrosexual scene, or where he considered events that deserved more comprehensive coverage to that provided in other posts.............................................However, having pretty much reached the top of his game in his chosen specific field, due to a number of personal predicaments, challenges & changes in his life priorities, Disco Matt parked his writing and operation in February 2014. While the burning desire to continue remained, what this much needed period of inactivity did provide was the time & space to re-think & re-focus his activities on a broader spectrum of media and entertainment............................................................So, following this long two year lay-off, he built up the foundations for this diversification into the areas of film, theatre, radio & television where his reviewing, recommending & reporting was to be replicated & resurrected, also pointing his promotions through more visuals & video's linked to all these areas along with his core activities and passions ................................................................................The Present....................................After another (shorter) period of lay-off from mid 2016, a life changing event reignited his passion and early into 2017, Disco Matt has delivered on his promise for a new, more modern look to his website, shedding the old & tired skin in favour of something far more in keeping with the times and with his blogging roots. And he has waived a fond farewell to his clubbing days, this having also been ditched from his site & activity, rather now just focussing on the genres of film, theatre, radio, television, video and of course, music, in so doing, aiming to broaden his appeal to a much wider audience interested in the latest most cutting edge areas of media & entertainment.............................................................................His aim is to be highly regarded across the industry for his writing in these fields and ultimately become a full time critic in film &/or theatre.
