Scampering into another super Saturday on the scene that sees no less than six superb shindigs spread between Shoreditch, Soho & south of the river scoring our specialist support, with mere hours to go, we serenade each in this Short Shouts Special, also propelling the International parties pulled into our promotional package.

There was a time a year or two ago when Saturday’s on the London scene had fallen flat as a pancake, the expected & usual big players having vanished without trace, leaving many scratching their heads as to where to lay their hats, but through this adversity has come diversity, Shoreditch the shining new star & saviour, serving up a schedule of shindigs that has seen a significant shift in support, ours included. That said, we have always attempted to spread the supporting love, this Short Shouts Special evidence enough of that, as with no less than eleven mini mentions of where we reckon you should be & be seen on the scene, not just in London but internationally, there is no doubt that this is yet again a super Saturday.

So to our first exceptional event entrant and one that also landed our “Pick of The Day”, the delicious DISH deserved of scooping our selection, the team turning out another truck load of treats across East Bloc’s three spaces, promoters Tom Stephan & Borja Peña baring a banquet of main room beats, while in the second space you have Mark-Ashley Dupé for starters, while tons of tunes tapas style from Cathal & co in the third room makes this a meet not to be missed, more detail up at https://facebook.com/events/463269320421191/.

Next and sticking with Shoreditch but shifting a little north, we land on the Dalston Superstore, new night “Bust You Nut” welcoming special guest Hifi Sean to the decks, he taking charge of the tunes in the brilliant basement, ably assisted by local lad Josh Caffe, the music all about house, while upstairs its more RnB with Mistamaker & Sugarbear, all hosted by the fabulously named Jacqui Potato , more info out at http://thedalstonsuperstore.com including an exclusive interview with Sean which is a worthy read.

Completing our first three sees us switch to Soho and to a stalwart of the scene, The Edge just off Soho Square having been in the business for double figure years, its four floors all having an individual atmosphere & attraction, so pulling in a really cosmopolitan crowd, while with a resident D.J. team that includes Zach Burns, Chris Brogan & Brent Nicholls, the Saturday sounds are superb, as they will surely be tonight, more info on the venue & its events up at https://facebook.com/groups/edgebarsoho/.

Continuing the switch for our next three, it’s across to the continent and to Paris particularly where we find a super selection that, had it not been for DISH, would have scooped that “Pick of The Day” position, Scream the captivating club & “London’s Burning” the enthralling event, our brilliant beats boy Zach Burns the headline D.J. guest for this prolific party, backed up by resident Tommy Marcus, while with three rooms of fun, Scream has a package that proves very popular with Parisian’s week in week out, more info to tonight’s turn up at http://scream-paris.com/.

But Scream have competition as the Circuit Festival clubbing machine rolls into town for its Paris leg of a string of pre-parties that will see it tour right around Europe & beyond, they fresh from their last warm up gathering in Tel Aviv, tonight’s event at the posh club Pavilion on The Champs Elysees seeing Matinee superstar D.J. Lydia Sanz star alongside Parisian players Xavier Seulmand & Romano B, this sure to bring the Matinee muscle-bounds out in force,  more details on this & the festival itself, out at https://facebook.com/circuitfestivalofficialpage.

Back across the channel to the capital, but avoiding crossing the river, we stay south for our next two mini mentions, Trannyshack taking up the marvellous meets mantle at The Eagle tonight, Miss Dusty O your heavenly hostess, D.J.’s Tasty Tim & Lady Lloyd spinning the sounds, with the Trannyshack girls Miss Silver Summers & Miss Eve in attendance, joined by special guest Heidi Liscious & Frankie Fantastique striking the girl boy balance, while “fun rooms” and sexy live shows make this an interesting adventure, further details out at https://facebook.com/Eagle.London.

Now to what would normally have been a given, although with recent times seeing a mound of “Midnight” events turning us off (well that & a few other issues), Beyond has been out of our own supports spotlight. However, with a change in promotional management plus some more tweaks that have included bringing the terrace space back into play, as well as dropping that maddening “Midnight” format, this week’s outing gets our thumbs up, especially as the D.J. line-up sees some old favourites like Hifi Sean & Gonzalo Rivas back, all this info & more up at https://facebook.com/events/135023516698899/.

So, with our sixth super Saturday on the London scene seeing us switch back to Shoreditch and to the Joiners Arms which has very much joined the party in terms of this mover & shaker slice of the scene, being out East very much in, the Joiner’s having been in business for many a moon, waxing & waning with the change in fortunes, but riding a wave crest that sees soirees from Wednesday through Sunday, tonight’s “Pantastic” seeing local lad Alessandro Londra, https://facebook.com/pages/The-Joiners-Arms/140245632665903 the link for more detail.

On the home straight in this Short Shouts Special, it’s away we go to the continent again, the south of France our next mini mention focus, the Shine Festival that has murmurs of Matinee running through the meet, D.J./Producer & club event promoter Ludolavida the connection, while with an advertised fifteen performers & six D.J.’s across two mega dancefloors within Shine club, the main festival event kicking off tonight from 11 p.m., Circuit Festival resident D.J. Thiago heads the “Matinee” arena, more details on the whole happening available at https://facebook.com/events/548238448550613/.

Now heading to Milan, this Saturday sees The Farm stretch its summer season legs, welcoming special guest D.J., super Spaniard Ivan Gomez to the decks, he no doubt sporting more than a handful of heavenly house, a stack of latest sounds sure to make for  a spectacular set not to be missed, while The Farm’s resident Dani Torro sure to hold his own, he having immensely impressed with performances across Europe this year, more detail on tonight’s turn available at https://facebook.com/events/170638346445823/.

Finally we look to Israel & Tel Aviv who are still partying hard, over three days into their extended Pride weekend, although tonight is the big night with plenty of players & events in town, the WE Party people making hey with another of their “Formula 2” themed throng, one that is six months old but clearly still has lengthy legs, although with a sister party over in Hollywood which has drawn WE resident Manuel de Diego away, it’s down to mew boy SR Edu to fly the WE Spain flag, Tel Aviv men Tomer Maizner & Sagi Kariv holding up the Forever Club end, further detail on the WE wall at https://facebook.com/WEpartygroup.

So that’s it for this Short Shouts Special and with a plethora of captivating choices for you the clubber to make, plus with Matinee’s “Summer Festival” in Barcelona also in the mix, it is very much a super Saturday on the scene both home & abroad, meaning you have plenty of exceptional event excuses to “Go There! Be There!”. (DISCO MATT)

About discomatt

The History........................................................Created in 2008 after a short period of blogging under his real name, the pseudonym, “Disco Matt”, was born on the back of a reputation for being London’s original party boy having partied and clubbed across the London gay scene since in mid 1990’s.........................................................Through his series of blogs via individual blogging pages which soon morphed into a full blown website (http://discomatt.com), Disco Matt established himself as an independent journalist come columnist who quickly gained a reputation for supporting & promoting one of the world’s most prolific clubbing scenes. He previewed, reviewed & recommended London gay clubs, as well as the diverse gay/metrosexual London club/bar culture, linking to & reviewing the scene top D.J.’s and generally covering the gay scene including international gay events....................................................Regularly reporting on the top events across the scene, Disco Matt’s reviews, over the years, developed a strong following, not just by clubbers, D.J’s, promoters, music producers & scene faces, but people far and wide that were looking for an insight to the incredible scene that was London. He also previewed upcoming events that signalled, either a major change or update of existing clubs, new ventures on the gAylist/metrosexual scene, or where he considered events that deserved more comprehensive coverage to that provided in other posts.............................................However, having pretty much reached the top of his game in his chosen specific field, due to a number of personal predicaments, challenges & changes in his life priorities, Disco Matt parked his writing and operation in February 2014. While the burning desire to continue remained, what this much needed period of inactivity did provide was the time & space to re-think & re-focus his activities on a broader spectrum of media and entertainment............................................................So, following this long two year lay-off, he built up the foundations for this diversification into the areas of film, theatre, radio & television where his reviewing, recommending & reporting was to be replicated & resurrected, also pointing his promotions through more visuals & video's linked to all these areas along with his core activities and passions ................................................................................The Present....................................After another (shorter) period of lay-off from mid 2016, a life changing event reignited his passion and early into 2017, Disco Matt has delivered on his promise for a new, more modern look to his website, shedding the old & tired skin in favour of something far more in keeping with the times and with his blogging roots. And he has waived a fond farewell to his clubbing days, this having also been ditched from his site & activity, rather now just focussing on the genres of film, theatre, radio, television, video and of course, music, in so doing, aiming to broaden his appeal to a much wider audience interested in the latest most cutting edge areas of media & entertainment.............................................................................His aim is to be highly regarded across the industry for his writing in these fields and ultimately become a full time critic in film &/or theatre.
