When a gap in the lucrative bear following market was spotted by D.J.’s/producers turned club promoters Daz Saund & Diddy some seven years ago, the then rather niche & select club designed to attract a certain element of a large (in more ways than one) clubbing group of the more muscled variety was born, Megawoof very much the product by design that was aimed at attracted the butch end of the beat market, the muscle-bound leather & hirsute handsome hunks that perhaps wouldn’t have necessarily been sucked in by the more populous weekly XXL or even the other monthly’s at the time, including the likes of Chunk, Daz & Diddy’s creation starting life at nightclub destination Crash before finding firmer foundations at Colosseum. And it was here that Megawoof established itself as one of the busiest Saturday monthly’s attracting plenty of special guest D.J.’s to the decks to compliment the strong residency line-up that included our original Italian stallion, Pagano.

However, always wanting to move with the times and keep its offering fresh, yet making the wise move not to make any move too drastic, a further switch across Vauxhall saw Megawoof find home at Hidden just over twelve months ago and whilst Hidden proved a challenge for the team following the popularity of the clubs former home, the Megwoof faithful quickly warmed to the place & the free flowing format of the rooms & spaces allowed Daz & Diddy to do much more with the brand. But, is they say, a change is as good as a rest and, for the fourth time in its seven year history, somewhat of a record for a club, Megawoof makes yet another move but, like all the other moves, is one that takes them a mere hop, skip and jump away from their current home, this time across the capitals second gay village, to the new look Fire, a switch that looks set to be its most prolific and exciting since the musclbear brands launch back in 2003.

So, why the switch? Well, it comes as no surprise to those that have followed the fortunes of another club brand giant, As One, that Megawoof was part of that package since its launch just twelve months ago and the marriage of minds, as well as the dramatic improvements made to Fire in recent months, has paved the way for this latest move by Daz, Diddy & the team, as in the Orange Group’s mother venue, Megawoof looks set to breathe new life & new vitality into a brand that still has a considerable following, but like many has been hit by a struggling Saturday scene that has consigned all but a few regular monthly parties to the scrapheap. And with the magnificent new main room at Fire with its incredible LED screens and improved lighting, the Megawoof team now have the perfect place to re-introduce their famed visuals which were so popular at both Crash & Colosseum to the most exceptional effect.

The main room will clearly be Megawoof’s main thrust and will allow the team to return to the strong D.J. format, headlined by Pagano, who is riding high following the releases of his “Digital Generation” compilation on 27th December, (more of that in a minute), this Sicilian star making a triumphant return to London & Fire’s decks following a sparkling New Year in South America and will no doubt be one of the biggest draws of the night, supported by a cast that will include Tim Mcloone, Leonardo Glovibes & Daz Saund, this fab four making for probably the strongest line-up we have seen in Megawoof history. So, expect plenty of pumping, funky fulsome & uplifting beats from our Italian Stallion’s titanic team of tunesters, yet with plenty of classic Pagano tunes like “Loca”, “Back To The Future” & “My Religion”, plus a handful of the eight previously unreleased tracks that feature on his new compilation, surely to make the man’s set, this is one performance from Pagano that you simply won’t want to miss. Mind you, it’s definitely worth also grabbing your own copy of “Digital Generation” which is rocketing up the Beatport chart and is available at https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/316641/pagano-digital-generation-mixed-and-unmixed and no surprise when it includes remixes of tracks like “Pushin To The Top” & “The Reflex” amongst others, there being no better way to prepare yourselves for a live onslaught from the man of the moment come Saturday at Megawoof.

As for the rest of the new life & chapter in this macho muscular manfest of a club outing, well there is plenty believe us, as the team will also very much beef up the lounge space, transforming it into a “butch bar” with D.J.’s Massimo & Fidel laying down a series of sexy sounds to compliment the cruising & boozing that is surely likely to take place here, while the exciting visuals across the club, masterminded by Diddy, will be topped off by a show stopping sexy & pervy performance by the taut & tattooed, handsome & hunky aerial artist, Arian, who blew the crowd away at Matinee’s NYC party on New Year’s Day, so is sure to do the same come Saturday. Add to all that the usual Megawoof hunky, chunky, muscle-buff, hirsute & leather-bound crowd that will definitely be turning out for this special launch night at Fire, plus with the ever broadening appeal that the move will attract, expect an up for it crowd that will be eager to savour “…the best bits of Megawoof from over the last 7 years which will create something familiar but fresh, funky and fiercely physical…” which the team are promising from this latest lease of life.
