Since branching out our coverage into Europe, the handful of places we have visited have inspired us to extend our reviews & reporting beyond those about just bars, clubs and events, to now include a number of aims that are being captured by our journalistic radar. So, whilst our first & true writing love will always be those club reviews & reports, the recent journeys we have undertaken, the sights we have seen and the memories we have drawn, have invoked us to record, in a review style format, all those magical moments to share, the aim also to give you an insight to the cities & stop-off’s we cover, so as to also inspire journeys of your own. However, deciding on the format and the style has taken a while, but with our new(ish) looking website under a full head of steam, the section we devised with this in mind, “Disco Matt Does….” will now spring into life.
So, with that backdrop to our new post painted, what can you expect from this new review/report in our increasing family of journalistic duty devotions? Well, first and foremost, as the title of this introduction suggests, the reviews will bridge the gap between clubbing & culture, stepping back from social aspect of our usual reflections and chronicling more of the sights & sounds of the cities & destinations we visit. Naturally, the commentary will be in our inimitable style, plenty of mentions for people we come across on our visits, plenty of a-typical phraseology, so whilst the running format may be similar the aim is to give the reviews a different feel, to broaden our reporting appeal, to introduce a little diversity and to increase the interest, although ultimately we want to share the love & share the happiness we have come to find in culture, very much as we do in clubbing.
Now to the subject matter and you find us injecting life into this new “Does… Culture” post, down in the Southern hemisphere of this wonderful world of ours, in South Africa no less, so consequently, we will be reporting on the both on Kwa-Zulu Natal & Belitto, as well as our extended excursion to Cape Town. However, there is much more to come before that, the first of our devotions going to Paris, which we visited briefly back in September, following it up with an unforgettable trip just three weeks ago. Then after Paris, we will recap on the five fabulous days we spent in Berlin back in October, while before we review South Africa, we will round off this first threesome with amazing Antwerp, which captured our hearts & minds at Christmas, a return visit whilst in Europe last month springing a few sightseeing surprises.
So, with plenty to bring in this dynamic new string to our reporting bow about to give birth, sit back, watch this space and enjoy the first of these new “Does…. Culture” reviews, as our inaugural endeavour “Parisian Pursuit Perfected” comes your way. (DISCO MATT)
