It’s here, it’s hip & it’s happening, Disco Matt’s new “Picks” section that accentuates the visuals, cuts the DM chat & drills down the detail, linking into website & event pages of his choice picks of where to be or be seen on the scene, while with a spring site spruce that includes a new promotions section, DM reports on the changes and then points to further future plans .

Well, it’s been over a year since we launched our bespoke website although time stands still for no man and during this evolutionary period we have implemented a few changes that have included a whole family of promotional banners & visuals to compliment or recommendations of where to be & be seen on the scene. And while we are still in the process of considering a complete website overhaul & fresh new look, with a spring in our step, just yesterday we implemented a few subtle changes to our current site layout, some which you may have already noticed.

So what changes have we made? Well, we have updated all the scripts within our categories & sections, while the sections on our home page have also been updated, a new “Welcome To Disco Matt” panel summarising who we are, while “Disco Matt Suggests” is also new & links via interactive banners to those scene websites we feel are worth a visit Then there is the new  “Disco Matt Published” panel which directs you to alternative online sites where our reviews, recommends, reports, music & other posts are featured, while we have revised & expanded the promotional banners on our website of those clubs events, businesses & music producers we are supporting, both in London & internationally, this week emphasising the approaching Easter weekend, as well as propelling our “Pick Of The Day” & “Best Bite” choices visuals.

And that pick of the day mention neatly moves onto a subtle change to our site that we are quite excited about, as we have dropped our “Lists” concept which hardly got off the ground, replacing it with Picks”, the idea here to expand on the pick of the day & podcast of the week postings we issue from our Facebook page (http://facebook.com/pages/Disco-Matt/112730602119746) & our Tumblr site (http://.tumblr.com/blog/discomatt). But the big difference here will be the deliverance of  club &/or event detail direct from the horses mouth, so cutting out the Disco Matt chat that comes with our recommends reports, rather letting the club  promoters & event organisers do the talking.  Plus, with the visuals the major feature plus with links to website & events pages a click away, “Picks” will allow us to enhance on the promotional banners on our site, as well as extend our coverage of the scene to a wide range of events, not just pick’s of the day, but much more.

But our spring site spruce has also focused on the visual rather than the commentary, we acknowledging that the high speed lives you lead often mean you don’t have time to delve into our sometimes demonstrative detail in our recommendations, rather reap from a straight to the point reminder about where to be & be seen on the scene, hence our new substantially sized interactive banner section at the head of our home page. Working in tandem with our promotional banners, this new section allows you to link directly with website, event, & ticket pages, by simply clicking on the image allowing you to make your own informed choices, although with our own recommendations in mind. And for you club owners, promoters & event organisers, this is a space where you can plug & push your happening’s, a simple e-mail to us at matt@discomatt.com including your rectangular banner artwork (dimensions 600 by 250) could see you feature fully on our site. Plus with plans to incorporate this feature into a website re-design, still on the drawing board, visuals of this nature mark the new era in our world.

So, subtle spring spruce site changes they may be, but in an ever evolving world on the web and with plans to launch a brand new scene website, the future is looking bright & beautiful. (DISCO MATT)

About discomatt

The History........................................................Created in 2008 after a short period of blogging under his real name, the pseudonym, “Disco Matt”, was born on the back of a reputation for being London’s original party boy having partied and clubbed across the London gay scene since in mid 1990’s.........................................................Through his series of blogs via individual blogging pages which soon morphed into a full blown website (http://discomatt.com), Disco Matt established himself as an independent journalist come columnist who quickly gained a reputation for supporting & promoting one of the world’s most prolific clubbing scenes. He previewed, reviewed & recommended London gay clubs, as well as the diverse gay/metrosexual London club/bar culture, linking to & reviewing the scene top D.J.’s and generally covering the gay scene including international gay events....................................................Regularly reporting on the top events across the scene, Disco Matt’s reviews, over the years, developed a strong following, not just by clubbers, D.J’s, promoters, music producers & scene faces, but people far and wide that were looking for an insight to the incredible scene that was London. He also previewed upcoming events that signalled, either a major change or update of existing clubs, new ventures on the gAylist/metrosexual scene, or where he considered events that deserved more comprehensive coverage to that provided in other posts.............................................However, having pretty much reached the top of his game in his chosen specific field, due to a number of personal predicaments, challenges & changes in his life priorities, Disco Matt parked his writing and operation in February 2014. While the burning desire to continue remained, what this much needed period of inactivity did provide was the time & space to re-think & re-focus his activities on a broader spectrum of media and entertainment............................................................So, following this long two year lay-off, he built up the foundations for this diversification into the areas of film, theatre, radio & television where his reviewing, recommending & reporting was to be replicated & resurrected, also pointing his promotions through more visuals & video's linked to all these areas along with his core activities and passions ................................................................................The Present....................................After another (shorter) period of lay-off from mid 2016, a life changing event reignited his passion and early into 2017, Disco Matt has delivered on his promise for a new, more modern look to his website, shedding the old & tired skin in favour of something far more in keeping with the times and with his blogging roots. And he has waived a fond farewell to his clubbing days, this having also been ditched from his site & activity, rather now just focussing on the genres of film, theatre, radio, television, video and of course, music, in so doing, aiming to broaden his appeal to a much wider audience interested in the latest most cutting edge areas of media & entertainment.............................................................................His aim is to be highly regarded across the industry for his writing in these fields and ultimately become a full time critic in film &/or theatre.
